Better Day

I am feeling a lot better today for some reason. I think it's because I have been eating yogurt, stopped worrying about my tummy, it was sunny today,  have been praying to stop feeling bad :)

Today was also better fashion-wise. But, when I tried to take pics of my cute fall outfit today, the SD card in my phone was full and I couldn't find the one that's usually in my camera! (Grrrrr.....) So, here we go, off to polyvore.com again to make a representation of my Fall Fashion for today.Wow, I give myself a D- so far this week. Only one more day. It's also Friday...gotta do it big for the last day, right?

My Fall Fashion Week = Epic Fail...so far

WHEN WILL IT STOP???!!! I have been feeling bad with stomach issues for going on three weeks now and to top it all off, my wonderful monthly visitor came yesterday :/

So, needless to say, my Fall Fashion Week 2011 has been an EPIC FAIL. I have been wearing yoga or some other type of stretchy pants almost everyday for the past week (well, with the exception of yesterday when I wore the cords) and today is no different....so here again, I have whipped up a concoction of the closest thing I could find to what I wore today....I will DEFINETLY have to step it up for next year...

Fall Fashion Week~Day 4

Sept 27

Well folks, I am still feeling really sick and I am not about to photograph myself that way. So, again today, I went to polyvore.com and created a set mimicking my outfit today.

I vow to take actual photos of myself soon!

Fall Fashion Week~Day 3

Sept 26

Oh how Fall Fashion excites me so! So much so, that I have given Fall Fashion Week it's very own page on my blog! I haven't really worn anything "Fall Fashion" worthy the past three days since I have been under the weather, so I have created three sets on polyvore.com of examples of things I have worn recently. Hopefully, starting tomorrow, I can post some actual pics!

Ketchup

Soo, I know I haven't blogged in a while. It's because I haven't really done anything worth blogging about....or so I thought. Here is a "catch-up" blog on what I have been doing for the past few weeks in my "blogisphere absence"....

First and foremost, I have been nauseated, sick to my stomach, and haven't been able to eat much at all for the past 2-3 weeks. After researching the Internet (aka: looking up my symptoms on webmd.com and mayoclinic.com), talking to people, and finally going to the doctor, I am pretty sure it's my gallbladder acting up. I had an ultrasound last Thursday, but it didn't show anything, so I have to go in for an endoscopy on Monday. (yay me.) I will be sure to keep you posted on that.

Also, I don't know if I have ever written about this, but my grandmother, who is my only living grandparent, was diagnosed with the early onset of Alzheimer's disease last year. It really breaks my heart to see her slowly losing her memory and cognitive skills because my whole life, up until recently, she has always been so smart and witty and quick on her feet. She used to beat everyone at Scrabble, Checkers, and Chinese Checkers when we would play at all our family gatherings. She was the first one to step in when someone in our family was having a crisis or needed a free baby-sitter or just needed a hug. (OK, I can already see I will need to have a separate post about her...more on that later...) Anyway, I have decided to join an Alzheimer's caregiver support group, because even though I'm not around her on a daily basis, I would like to offer support to my aunts and uncles and my mother, who are all trying to care for her. I haven't gone to any of the meetings yet. The first one is on Tuesday and if I am feeling well enough, I am planning to attend. I feel like it's the least I can do, even though I cannot begin to pay back this woman for all she has ever done for me. (Will blog about that later, as well...)

Since this is turning into such a looooooooong post, I will just write about one more thing. Exercise. I haven't been getting hardly any for the past few months and I needed something fun to help me get started again and also someone to hold me accountable on my progress. (Let's face it people, if your spouse is the only thing standing between you and the remote and a bag of cookies, he's gonna get knocked out of the way LOL) Anyway, a girl I work with goes to hip-hop aerobics every Thursday night and she invited me to go with her. (Actually, this is like the 4th time she has asked me....but anyway....) So, a couple Thursdays ago (before all the stomach stuff started), I went! I loooove it! It is so fun and upbeat and the girls there are just like me (well, except the instructor and the gym employees--ugh), they need to shed some pounds, too! In fact, this new class excites me so much, and I'm so proud of myself for going, that I bought myself these shoes as a treat!

Well folks, that's what has been going on in my world lately. Through all of this, I can say I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel because my God is bigger than all of this, and He is in control! I hope everyone has a blessed day and I will fill you in on more of my life/creations in the near future....

I'm Inspired Again!

I have just been soooo uninspired lately. I think a big part of it is that I want to create so many things, but I just don't know where to start, and also, I don't have the space. I also don't have the time (hence the name, Part Time Creations...)

Anyway, I had the awesome privilege of baby-sitting my newest little nephew, Tyson, on Saturday, and he was such a good boy for Aunt Stacey. He never cried even once! He only fretted a little when his paci would fall out of his mouth or when I had to change him (he doesn't like to be laid flat on his back :/). Otherwise, he just slept or looked up at me when I was holding him.

See, ain't he a cutie?

Anyway, since I watched him for like 10 hours, I got to watch tons and tons of HGTV, which I do not ever get the chance to do because #1 we don't have cable, and #2 I don't have time. Aww man, I loved it and it made me wish I had a house instead of a 1 BR rental, which I cannot paint, so I could go all out!

Here are some rooms that really get me going...hope you enjoy as much as I do!

Okay, these didn't come from HGTV, they came from House Beautiful and Elle Decor, but anyway, they inspire me!

Grand Re-Opening!

Lately, creating on a part-time basis has been happening a little more part-time than I would like. I have just felt so uninspired, perhaps a little too lazy, and maybe somewhat overwhelmed to make more things for my etsy shop. (Which is why I only have three items in there right now, but I digress...)

Anyway, I have also been trying to decide in what direction I would like to take the shop. You see, I am pretty much a jack of all trades and master of none. However, from working in retail for years and years as well as taking marketing and merchandising classes, I know that approach really doesn't work most of the time. I mean, even if you sell a variety of things, you still have to have one common theme, like "all items under $10", or "vintage", or "women's clothing", etc...

So, I have decided to take down all the paper goods I had for sale and concentrate mainly on fun handmade jewelry for now. I also dabble in crochet as well as paper collage work, so of course I will add some of those things later. I think the crochet will come first since summer is coming to an end :)

So, for now I am working on a few cute but inexpensive pieces of casual everyday hand made jewerly, such as the pieces below....I have several items ready and I am planning on shooting, editing, and uploading photos for a better part of the day tomorrow for my grand re-opening!

I will post when I am done so you can go check it out :)

As always, thanks for your support and I look forward to sharing my creations with you!
