Teacup Tuesday

I love long weekends and I love traveling to see our friends on the NC coast, but I also love being home! Now, it's Tuesday and back to the daily grind. Since I'm back at work, my main form of relaxation is a nice warm cup of tea or coffee. Here are some cuties I found on etsy. Enjoy!

Signs of Summer

It's hotttttt here in NC today! Summer has already made it's unofficial apprearance and the hot temps will last well into September or maybe even October. In honor of the upcoming season, I have made a few pieces of shell jewelry and have added them to my shop.

The pieces that I posted yesterday are all made with shells that I found along the beach at Topsail Island a couple weeks ago--and I have a few more pieces to add soon!

Also, I am heading to Wrightsville Beach and possibly Carolina Beach over Memorial Day weekend so I hope to find more shells that can be turned into more little masterpieces :)

I am inspired by these pieces that I found last night as well...

I love the idea of bracelets made with waxed Irish linen like is sometimes used in bookbinding. Maybe if I become more skilled at making jewerly, I will add simular things one day!

Full Day!

Whew! My hubby and I are resting up today from our super full Saturday! First, I got up and paid some bills and did some business stuff online. Then, I talked to my mom and helped her with some stuff for about an hour. Then, I piddled around the house some. Then, I took a looooonnnngggggg shower and took my time doing my hair. (Darn, I should have taken a picture of it...I always forget!) After that, I went to get something to eat and drop some letters off at the post office.

When I got back home, I got my hubs out of the bed (he works at night, so he sleeps until the afternoon) and after he got ready, we were on our way to the Got to Be NC Festival, where my dad was participating, and helping run, the antique tractor pull. Now, if you have never been to one, you're really not missing anything unless you like loud engines, slow tractors, lots of waiting, and lots of dust and getting dirty. This really isn't my cup of tea, to be quite honest, but my Daddy loves it and he has been doing this almost every Spring and Summer weekend for about 20 years now. Plus, it was only like 30 minutes away from our house, so how could I not go and support my Dad?

Here is a pic of him pulling...sorry it's through the fence, but we didn't have time to walk around before he started!

Lucky, we got there around 5 and it ended about 7, so we didn't have to stay that long, but I'm glad that we did get to see my Dad!
From there, my day kept getting better! After we left the fairgrounds, we went to Cracker Barrel and then Jesse took me to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4! It was so good! I won't ruin it for you, but here's a pic, though :)

If you haven't been to see this, you should go...especially if you are obsessed with all the "Pirates" movies like I am! Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday..I'm off to do some more resting!
